Professional Details

I currently see patients privately and within the NHS Specialist Psychotherapy Services in CNWL London. I can also be contacted for psychoanalytic clinical supervision.

I’m a principal psychodynamic psychotherapist with 26 years’ experience of working within the NHS mental health and psychotherapy services.

People often come to see me because they are unable to resolve or understand their difficulties like depression or anxiety on their own and may have become unwell. I help people to develop a better understanding of their difficulties, and to become aware of the internal obstacles and relationships that seem to be preventing development and helpful change. Change often involves some difficult emotional movement in conjunction with what can be faced between us in a session, and I think of this as us working towards good mental health.

From my experience and training I take special interest in helping people with depression, anxiety, treatment resistant depression, melancholia, personality difficulties like borderline personality disorder, and wider issues to do with sex and sexuality. This might mean that we may work more intensively over several sessions a week when required. I am also happy to meet with you if you are experiencing other difficulties and want to make sense of your inner world and relationships.

I also see trainee clinical psychologists and psychotherapists through their training.

I have worked in NHS mental health services since 1991. I’m a principal psychodynamic psychotherapist and clinical supervisor within CNWL Mental Health Foundation Trust. I also teach and supervise psychiatrists training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I provide assessment and treatment for persistent depression and anxiety, complex needs and for those seeking help with making sense of their lives. I have also worked as a principal psychotherapist for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust 2016 – 2020, psychotherapist in Berkshire NHS personality disorders service from 2005 – 2010, psychotherapist at the NHS Isis Centre in Oxford 2011- 2013 and at the Tavistock Centre in London from 2007 – 2015.

I am a full member of the BPC – British Psychoanalytic Council and full member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists & Tavistock Private Psychotherapy Service. I am registered accredited member of the BACP (Accred) – British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have full professional indemnity insurance and work within the guidelines of the BPC.
